This project is a digital space focused on rebranding projects for PRGE (Portland Retro Gaming Expo). PRGE is a non-profit cooperative organization dedicated to raising awareness and appreciation for classic video and arcade games through the presentation of events and conventions.
In terms of digital branding, the challenge is to give the brand a fresh and modern vibe. It is also to ensure that the brand still evokes a feeling associated with retro games. After lots of experiments, I think retro elements+modern color palette+modern design approach is the best for the case. Keeping some retro elements like the pixel and joystick from their original branding system, I apply a modern color palette and optimize the pixel to every part of branding from fonts to icons.
